More exciting updates about the upcoming title, Pride and Prejudice and Kitties, co-authored by our own Debbie Guyol. First of all, April 8 is the official publication date. And there is a new and updated web site dedicated to the book, at http://prideandprejudiceandkitties.com/.
There are also two regional book readings to celebrate this new title:
There is much more info available on the site, including Austen Links, Kitty Links, How to Photograph a Cat, and a Photo Gallery! Dr. Pauline Beard Can't get enough of Downton Abbey or Jane Austen? For Women's History Month 2013, Dr. Chris Wilkes and Dr. Pauline Beard of Pacific University will present a special program, "JANE AUSTEN MEETS DOWNTON ABBEY : A Comparison and Contrast of Women's Power" this next week at Pacific University. Pauline is a longtime member of JASNA and a former regional coordinator. Date: Wed., March 6 Time: 7:00 - 9:00 pm Place: Berglund 200, Pacific University, Forest Grove (for map, click here) English treats and tea. Surprise prizes. Appropriate dress encouraged. There is a new Pride and Prejudice-inspired sequel available on Amazon Kindle, entitled Mrs. Bennet's Menopause, by Lucy Kate King. King is a Jane Austen fan, and this whole project has been a labour of love. King and her husband, Jon Lydon, live a short distance from the little village of Godmersham in Kent, England, where Jane Austen wrote her first drafts of Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice. Any visitors to Kent from your group with an historical interest should get in touch, as they may be able to offer them some English hospitality! Jon Lydon and his author wife, Lucy Kate King, wish our JASNA group best wishes and good luck! The ebook link is available on Amazon here at http://www.amazon.com/Mrs-Bennets-Menopause-ebook/dp/B00BGV9QSO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361988593&sr=8-1&keywords=mrs+bennets+menopause |
