JASNA Oregon & SW Washington Region
Welcome to the Oregon & SW Washington Region of the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA). We are a friendly and active group dedicated to the appreciation of Jane Austen's life and works.
Our region's chapter was formed after the 1985 JASNA AGM in Savannah, GA, when then-JASNA President Lorraine Hanaway asked Mary Margaret Benson to be the regional coordinator for the new region. Our first meeting was held soon after in McMinnville, and was attended by Paula Stepankowsky, Kenneth Ericksen, Frank McClanahan, and Mary Margaret Benson.
