From the Eastern Pennsylvania Region of JASNA, Jane Austen Day 2014 events will take place April 26, 2014. This year's day-long event entitled The Unfinished Jane Austen will be a fascinating exploration of Austen's two unfinished novels, The Watsons and Sanditon, and a provocative discussion of what Austen might have accomplished if she had lived a longer life. There will be a panel of Austen scholars joining the region for Jane Austen Day. Presentations by Professors Jocelyn Harris, Janine Barchas and Michael Gamer will be the highlights of the event. Jane Austen Day will be held in the exquisite Grant Room at Philadelphia’s historic Union League and include complimentary morning tea and coffee, a delicious luncheon, selected merchants including a bookseller, and an abundance of good discussion and fellowship. More details, including the schedule of events and registration form, are available on the Eastern Pennsylvania Region's website at http://jasnaeastpa.org/jaday.html. The 2014 AGM Tribute Grant information is live!
Please go to our Tribute Grant page and find out more about this wonderful opportunity. There is a question and answer section (FAQs), as well as the application (in two formats, Word and PDF) on our website now. Many of our members may meet the application criteria, and we encourage you to apply! Spread the word and let your friends and family members know. Please read through the FAQs section first, as it should answer all of your questions. If not, be sure to let Kim, our Regional Coordinator know (see Contacts page). "Cozy Classics" are a series of board books of classic literature, including Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and Emma. The photographs capture creative felted illustrations and characters. The series was created by twin brothers Holman and Jack Wang -- and each board book is only 12 words long! For more info online:
