Spring Tea

Readers Theatre Gresham will return for another unique Spring Tea! Hear a theatrical reading of Jane Austen's novels: Emma and Lady Susan (from beginning to end, each in 15 minute segments) created and read by the play readers of Readers Theatre Gresham directed and produced by Michael Streeter. A fashion commentary will follow provided by Laura Streeter, a costume historian <http://readerstheatregresham.org/>

Michael Streeter (Producer) is an actor, teacher, director, producer, and record producer. He played Jim in All Shook Up at the Lakewood Theatre Company in summer 2025. Other musical credits include My Fair Lady at Clackamas Rep, 9 to 5 The Musical at the Lakewood Theatre Company, Greenway in Elf! The Musical (twice!), Yeoman of the Guard with Mocks Crest, and an acting gig with Portland Opera in The Difficulty of Crossing a Field.
Last year in 2025, he produced Silent Sky at OMSI.
His directing credits include The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui at Twilight Theater, the award-winning Jesus Christ Superstar at Post 5 Theater, and his adaptation of The Rape of Lucrece at Imago Theater.
As an actor, he has appeared at theaters across the Portland Metropolitan Area, including portraying Reverend Harper in Lakewood’s production of Arsenic and Old Lace, Burbage in Shakespeare in Love, Titus in Titus Andronicus with Speculative Drama and roles at Imago, Post5, Bag & Baggage, Oregon Adventure Theater, Northwest Classical Theater, Portland Actors Ensemble, OPS Fest, +Street Scenes, and readings at Portland Playhouse, Artists Rep, and Portland Center Stage.
Michael is slated to direct Into the Woods for Mt Hood Repertory Theatre this summer with Hannah Penn as the Music Director. Michael is the Artistic Director of Mt Hood Repertory Theatre and Readers Theatre Gresham. He is the Artistic Director Emeritus of Portland Actors Ensemble. He has two lovely daughters and a wonderful wife and collaborator, Laura, without whom he could not do theater.
