Two exciting Austen-related publications are coming out soon!
First, all JASNA members should expect the new issue of JASNA's journal, Persuasions No. 33, in their mailboxes soon. The new edition features essays from the 2011 AGM in Forth Worth, Texas, "Jane Austen:  200 Years of Sense and Sensibility." 

The entire table of contents for Persuasions No. 33 is available online, at http://jasna.org/persuasions/printed/pers33.html.

Also, the July/August issue of the Jane Austen's Regency World magazine will be published and mailed to subscribers within the next couple of weeks. 

The new issue includes articles about:

*A Royal Affair: a new film depicts the scandal that rocked a European monarchy 

*Olympic Jane: as the 2012 Games open in London, we look at the sports that Jane might have played

*Gothic horror: how Jane Austen satirised the latest literary fashion

The Belletrist logo
Thanks to Janet Rohrbaugh, our Regional Secretary, for forwarding on the news about a new online Regency magazine called The Belletrist. The following comes direct from the magazine's Editori-in-Chief, Sarah Bernsdorff:

The Regency Society of America, a non-profit group dedicated to all aspects of the Regency, has come together to create The Belletrist Magazine.

The Belletrist, volunteer made, will be available for free on Issuu.com, quarterly. Articles covering history, decorum, and fashion, as well as activities for kids, will be open to any who wish to view it.

Though The Belletrist has been put together by the Regency Society of America, we welcome readers and volunteers no matter their organization, and would like to give to you the opportunity to subscribe to the magazine before our maiden publication March 2nd.

There are two ways to subscribe:
  1. “Like” our Facebook page. By liking our page, not only will you get the link to the magazine as soon as it is available, but you will also get updates leading up to our publication and a list of merchants from across the continent that we have “Liked”.
  2. Send an e-mail, subject line Subscribe, to our e-mail address thebelletristmagazine@yahoo.com. When the magazine is made available we will send you a link. Your e-mail will remain private and we will send no spam. Unsubscribing is easy and can be done at any time.
